100 Organizations Across New England Running Book Drives in January & February
Got Books Inc. the leading used book collection and reuse company in New England announced that 100 of its non-profit partners are running book collection drives in January and February. Across New England from Ogunquit ME to Woonsocket RI, and Brockton MA to Nashua NH these organizations will be raising money for their programs by having their community donate their unwanted books, DVDs, CDs and records. >More
Got Books Donates 1,000 Books to Healy School
Got Books Inc. the leading used book collection and reuse company in New England announced that the Arthur D. Healy school in Somerville is the latest recipient of a “Great Book Giveaway” and has received a gift of 1000 books. The books will stock the teacher’s libraries, the school library and each of the over 500 children at the school will receive a book to take home at the end of the school year. The gift to the school, which exceeds $5,000 in value is the latest donation from Got Books, Inc. to schools in the greater Boston area. Got Books Donates 750 Books to Tilton School
Got Books, Inc headquartered in Wilmington MA, in partnership with sister company Used Book Superstore, the largest used bookstores in New England has announced that the Tilton School in Haverhill MA is the latest recipient of a “Great Book Giveaway” and will receive a gift of 750 books. The books are being donated as part of the Haverhill YMCA’s Educator of the Year award for 2011. The YMCA selected Kerri Alves of the Tilton School as the 2011 Educator of the Year. Each of the more than 600 students at the school will receive a book to keep for themselves. The balance of the books will become part of the school’s library. >More
Got Books Donates a Smart Car Full of Books to Riverfield School
Got Books, Inc headquartered in Wilmington MA, the leading used book collection and reuse company in New England announced that the Riverfield Elementary School is the latest recipient of a “Smart Car Full of Books”, (see attached photo). Got Books Brings the Holiday Cheer to North Reading Masons Event
Got Books is Santa’s little helper this year! Got Books donated a book for every boy and girl at a Breakfast with Santa event held by the North Reading Masons on December 19th. The event was a fundraiser for local charities and Got Books was there to supply the big guy in red with an assortment of children’s books for all to take home as many as they pleased. Santa even used a little Christmas magic to give one little boy just what he wanted – a copy of a ninja book he’d been looking for, provided by Got Books.
Got Books Donates to Quincy YMCA
There’s a whole lot of reading going on at the Quincy YMCA! Got Books recently supported two literary focused events at the YMCA through book donations. The Y’s Literacy Night took place on November 22nd and Got Books donated boxes of books to be used in the month-long reading challenge the Y ran to celebrate Massachusetts Family Literacy Month.
To ring in the holiday cheer, Got Books also made a donation of more than 200 books to the YMCA’s Polar Express event on December 9th. Local families were able to select a book to keep and the offerings from Got Books were a huge success. “I can’t tell you how important the donation was to the community. We were able to provide for a variety of families from all different walks of life and different socioeconomic backgrounds. It was a thrill.” reported YMCA coordinator Katie Marini.

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

Got books? The Greater Waterbury CT YMCA now does! Got Books has donated 1,000 children’s books to the Y for their brand new day care service library. Nearly 200 preschool aged children will have access to the new library, which was empty before the donation from Got Books.
Got Books Collects Golf Clubs for Troops in Afghanastan
Got Books, Inc. the leading used book collection and reuse company in New England in partnership with Local Heroes, in Wilmington, MA has announced it will send hundreds of golf clubs and thousands of golf balls to U.S. Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
