Books Going to Deployed Military As Part of Care Packages
Saugus, MA September 1, 2011 – Used Book Superstore, Inc. the largest used book store chain in New England with a store at the Square One Mall in Saugus, has announced that in conjunction with its sister company Got Books, Inc,. it is partnering with the non-profit Saugus Military Families of Saugus MA to send books to deployed military troops. The partnership is part of an ongoing philanthropic program, “Books for Troops” run by Got Books, Inc. of Wilmington, MA. 
“Saugus Military Families” is an all-volunteer group in Saugus that supports our troops by sending care packages comprised of everything from snacks and toiletries to socks and books to troops overseas. The “Books for Troops” program is run by Got Books, Inc. of Wilmington MA. Books for Troops sends a hand-selected box of books to any member of the military deployed overseas. It has also partnered with organizations like the USO of Boston, MA, Local Heroes of Wilmington MA, and now with Saugus Military Families to provide books.
“We are happy to partner with the Used Book Superstores to get books to send to our troops overseas,” comments Diane Blengs, President of Saugus Military Families. “Some of the military members we support get very little contact from home. Having a son who spend a year in Afghanistan, I know how much the little things from home can mean”.
