Got Books provides hundreds of nonprofit groups with an easy fundraising program: book donation
containers are placed throughout New England at schools, town halls, retail parking lots and a variety of other public locations. Got Books pays the container hosts after their donated books are collected. The Company has paid over $1 million to local non-profit groups since 2007 and has saved millions of books from landfills.
Miss Lisa Stott, teacher at Emily G. Wetherbee, welcomed the support to the building. “Approximately 88% of our students receive free or reduced lunch and therefore fall in the low income range. Given the many challenges our student population faces, our students still come to school everyday eager to learn and willing to embrace education,” comments Stott. “If we can help place resources by the way of books in their homes, we can go a step further in ensuring their success not just as students but as members of the community,” added Stott.
The books will be delivered to the Emily G. Wetherbee School in Lawrence on May 5, 2011 directly from Got Books, Inc. in Wilmington. “Got Books as the book supplier of the Used Book Superstores is in the business of supporting non profits and schools,” comments Bob Ticehurst, CEO and founder of Got Books, Inc. and the Used Book Superstores. “Our book collection program has given more than $1 million back to our non profit partners. Our stores provide teachers with special discounts EVERY week, and this gift is an example of our donations to education in our “Got Books Great Book Giveaway.”
