PARLIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN EVERETT, MA RECEIVES 1,000 BOOKS FROM GOT BOOKS, INC.
“Got Books Great Book Giveaway” Promotes Reading
Got Books, Inc. the leading used book collection and reuse company in New England, has announced that, in conjunction with its sister company Used Book Superstore, the Parlin School will become the latest recipient of a “Got Books Great Book Giveaway” and will receive a gift of 1,000 books for distribution to both the school library and to the children for FREE. The value of the gift to the school exceeds $5,000 from Got Books/Used Book Superstore, Inc.
Got Books provides hundreds of nonprofit groups with an easy fundraising program: book donation containers are placed throughout New England at schools, town halls, retail parking lots and a variety of other public locations. Got Books pays the container hosts after their donated books are collected. The Company has paid over $1 million to local non-profit groups since 2007 and has saved millions of books from landfills.
Mr. Naumann, Principal and Mrs. Sutera, Assistant Principal both welcome the support to their building. “The children are so excited about this announcement. They can’t wait to receive their very own books. This generous donation will help to expand the children’s horizons beyond the classroom experience,” comments Naumann. Library Coordinator, Mrs. Patricia Ells noted, “The addition of these books will enhance our existing library collection and make it more user friendly. Katelyn Dondero, a teacher at the Parlin Elementary School comments, “The mantra of the district is, ‘Everett Schools are Everett’s Pride’. I feel pride in my students, the way they come to school every day and try their best and work the hardest that they can to make something of themselves someday. They have more hope and aspirations than anyone I know. They inspire me daily to want to do more for them.”
The books will be delivered to the Parlin Elementary School in Everett on April 7, 2011 directly from Got Books, Inc. in Wilmington. “Got Books as the book supplier of the Used Book Superstores is in the business of supporting non profits and schools,” comments Bob Ticehurst, CEO and founder of Got Books, Inc. and the Used Book Superstores. “Our book collection program has given more than $1 million back to our non profit partners. Our stores provide teachers with special discounts EVERY week, and this gift is an example of our donations to education in our “Got Books Great Book Giveaway.”
