Want to get rid of your used books? The local 1957 chapter of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is raising money through donations of new and used books, CDs, DVDs, records and audio books. The group has recently placed a drop-off donation container to collect these items from community members who’d like to repurpose their used goods while also helping the group raise money. The group will be paid on an ongoing basis for all items collected in their donation container.
AFSCME is a union made up of a diverse group of people who share a common commitment to public service. AFSCME provides vital services and advocates for prosperity and opportunity for all working families.
The gray book donation container, distinguished by its purple and yellow Got Books? signs, is located in the parking lot of Stop & Shop at 565 Main Street in Walpole. This program is an ongoing fundraiser and donations can be made by the public at any time. All funds raised through the collection of these donations will benefit the Walpole chapter of AFSCME.
