Want to get rid of your used books? The Friends of the Newburyport Council on Aging are raising money through donations of new and used books, CDs, DVDs, records, and audio books. The group has recently placed a drop-off donation container to collect these items from community members who’d like to repurpose their used goods while also helping the Council raise money. The group will be paid on an ongoing basis for all items collected in their donation container.
The Friends of the Newburyport Council on Aging is a private nonprofit organization committed to raising the funds necessary for the development of a new senior center, and to create an endowment to address the needs of Newburyport’s elders into the future.
The gray book donation container, distinguished by its purple and yellow ‘Got Books?’ signs, is located at Cushing Park, on the corner of Buck and Congress Streets in Newburyport. This program is an ongoing fundraiser and donations can be made by the public at any time. All funds raised through the collection of these donations will help fund the building of the new Newburyport senior center.
