Got Books Raises Money for the Hardwick Senior Center
179 Main Street, Gilbertville, MA 01031Map Location |
Want to get rid of your used books? The Hardwick Senior Center is raising money through donations of new and used books, CDs, DVDs, records and audio books. The group has recently placed a drop-off donation container to collect these items from community members who’d like to repurpose their used goods while also helping the senior center raise money. The group will be paid on an ongoing basis for all items collected in their donation container.
The gray book donation container, distinguished by its purple and yellow ‘Got Books?’ signs, is located in the parking lot of the center at 179 Main Street in Gilbertville. This program is an ongoing fundraiser and donations can be made by the public at any time. All funds raised through the collection of these donations will benefit the general funding of the senior center.
The mission senior center is to give seniors a “home away from home” where they can feel comfortable, socialize with friends and volunteer if they wish. The Hardwick Council On Aging provides educational and social programs such as Meals on Wheels, food stamps, free access to faxing and copying for seniors, advocacy and transportation.
