Want to get rid of your used books? Lazarus House of Lawrence is raising money through donations of new and used books, CDs, DVDs, records, and audio books. The organization has recently placed a drop-off donation container to collect these items from community members who’d like to repurpose their used goods while also supporting Lazarus House. The charity will be paid on an ongoing basis for all items collected in their donation container.
Lazarus House is a nonprofit group which offers a variety of services to those in dire need of life’s most basic necessities. It strives to prevent homelessness by providing food, shelter, job training and guidance.
The gray book donation container, distinguished by its purple and yellow ‘Got Books?’ signs, is located in the parking lot of the charity’s St. Francis Thrift Shop at 229 South Union Street in Lawrence. This program is an ongoing fundraiser and donations can be made by the public at any time. All funds raised through the collection of these donations will benefit Lazarus House.
