Want to get rid of your used books? Dudley Boy Scout Troop 273 is raising money through donations of new and used books, CDs, DVDs, records and audio books. The group has recently placed a drop-off donation container to collect these items from community members who’d like to repurpose their used goods while also helping the Scouts raise money. The group will be paid on an ongoing basis for all items collected in their donation container.

The gray book donation container, distinguished by its purple and yellow ‘Got Books?’ signs, is located in the parking lot of the Dudley Municipal Center at 71 West Main Street. This program is an ongoing fundraiser and donations can be made by the public at any time. All funds raised through the collection of these donations will benefit the funding of Boy Scout Troop 273.

“Our Got Books Container is a valuable asset for our Troop. It takes very little effort and the people in our community have been very supportive. We had been searching for an ongoing fundraiser to help us raise money for our Troop Scholarship fund and the Got Books Container has fit this need. We placed the container in our Municipal Center Parking lot and it is available to our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The container is usually emptied once every 4 to 6 weeks. It is very satisfying to us to know that with the Got Books program we can continue to support the young men in our troop in their ongoing pursuit of higher education. Thank you Got Books!”
