Got Books Raises Money for Haverhill YMCA
81 Winter St. Haverhill, MA |
Want to get rid of your used books? The Haverhill YMCA is raising money through donations of new and used books, CDs, DVDs, records and audio books. The group has recently placed a drop-off donation container to collect these items from community members who’d like to repurpose their used goods while also helping the YMCA raise money. The group will be paid on an ongoing basis for all items collected in their donation container.
The gray book donation container, distinguished by its purple and yellow ‘Got Books?’ signs, is located in the parking lot of the YMCA at 81 Winter Street, Haverhill. This program is an ongoing fundraiser and donations can be made by the public at any time. All funds raised through the collection of these donations will benefit the funding of the Haverhill YMCA.
Last year, the North Shore YMCAs had an impact on more than 5,500 deserving children, adults and families throughout the North Shore. They provided over $1.8 million in essential Y programs and services so that all people, regardless of ability to pay, could benefit from the YMCA. In these hard times, we know the need will rise. In fact, YMCA financial assistance is expected to climb to over $2 million in 2010. With your support, the Y will continue to give all kids and families a chance to learn, discover and succeed.
