What: Our Troops night, where we'll gather to fill and send out care packages for local troops
Where: Used Book Superstore at 256 Cambridge Street (Rt. 3A) Burlington
When: The third Thursday of every month from 5:00PM-8:00PM
Why: We've pledged to send at least 25,000 books overseas to local troops in 2008 - come in and help us fill up some boxes! |
Got Books has a mission: finding new uses for your
used books! We are dedicated to re-circulating your
book, CD, DVD, and video donations back into the community
and getting them into the hands of people who will value
them as you once did. One of the ways we accomplish
this goal is through our Books for Troops program.
The mission of this program is to provide local soldiers with engaging and high-quality books to read
while stationed overseas. We hand-pick the books right
here at Got Books, ensuring that every one will be appropriate
and enjoyable to its recipient. The books will typically
be small paperbacks which are lighter and easier to
carry. Packages of about 50-100 books will be sent to each
participating soldier, which means there will
be plenty of books to share with friends in their unit.
Got Books will enclose emails and hand written letters
in each package wishing recipients luck during their
service and thanking the troops for all that they do
for us.

Forces overseas? Got Books needs you to aid in our mission!
Let us send them a package of books! Please fill out the quick form below and we will contact
you for further details or you can give us a call to
submit the appropriate information so that your loved
one can receive his or her package of books right away.
Got Books handles all preparing, packaging, and shipping
costs and efforts so all that's required of you is to
give us a shipping name and address!
Got Books also provides all books for shipping. While
you can certainly feel free to donate your books to
us, we are not currently collecting book donations specifically
for the Books for Troops program. All of the donations
we receive are compiled and sorted to find their best
purpose. This is not to say that none of your donations
will reach the troops, but we also cannot guarantee
this. We can guarantee, however, that your donations
will be used in one of several great ways: we donate
books to schools, libraries, and other groups in need,
we have a program which gets teachers free books for
their classrooms, and we hold our weekly Charity
Book Sale where half of the profits benefit one
of our nonprofit
