As a for-profit book reuse company, we're dedicated to finding good homes for your donated books, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, audio books, and records so that they can be reused and kept out of the trash. Every book donation we receive is sorted at our warehouse to find its best possible purpose. |
Donated books are sent overseas through our Books for Troops program, donated to local educators and schools through our Books for Teachers program, donated to local groups in need through our Get Books program, or sold online and at our Used Book Superstores where every book is discounted well below its original price. We strive to both save books from becoming waste, as well as ensure that books will be used in the best way possible. A little more about what we do with donated books: |

Through our container fundraising program, we are able

Books for Troops
Got Books has pledged to send at
least 25,000 books each year to local
troops stationed overseas. Books
are hand selected and sent free
of charge.

Help Local Groups!
When you donate books into
our local drop-off donation containers, you help the local charity hosting it raise money! They're paid each time it fills & we send checks to hundreds of groups each month! We raised
about $500,000.00 for these groups from 2008-2009!

New Orleans Recovery
Got Books has donated over 1,000 children's books to the "Cable Cares" initiative to replenish the book supply
of many schools in New Orleans that
lost their libraries in the storm. The
goal is to collect 15,000 books to refill
the bookshelves of those in need. |
Walter Reed Hospital
Got Books has sent a shipment of
donated books to the Walter Reed
Army
Medical Center in
Washington, D.C.
The hospital is the
US Army's east
coast medical center, serving more than 150,000 soldiers.
