Why Give Us Books
Why give us books? We'll find a great use for them!
Every book donation that we receive is brought back to our warehouse and sorted to find its best possible purpose. Items will likely end up in one of the following locations:
Books for Troops Program
Got Books has pledged to send at least 25,000 books in 2008 to local soldiers stationed overseas. Packages of about 100 books are sent to each recipient. For more info on this program visit our Troops page.
|
Books for Teachers Program
Through our book container fundraising program, we are able to offer a voucher for free books to every faculty member at each school we place a container. To learn more about this program visit our Fundraising page. |
Charity Book Sale
Every week on Friday and Saturday we host this book sale from 9AM-4PM. All items are just $1 and half of all profits are donated directly to one of our nonprofit partners. For more, visit our book sale page.

Schools, Libraries, & More
We often donate books and other media to schools, libraries, and other groups that are in need the literature for their educational purposes. We are always looking for new ways to help those in need of reading materials. |
Walter Reed Hospital
Got Books has sent a shipment of quality books to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The hospital is the US Army's east coast medical center, serving more than 150,000 active and retired soldiers. Books are intended to provide enjoyment for service members in recovery.

New Orleans Recovery
Got Books has donated over 1,000 children's books to the "Cable Cares" initiative which will be used to replenish the book supply of the many schools in the New Orleans area that lost their libraries in the storm. The goal is to collect 15,000 books to refill the bookshelves of those in need. |
